Natural Gas is available in Sound Beach. The problem is that National Grid will not hook you up unless you are 200 feet or less from the main line. . If you are let's say 1000 feet away from the main line you have to find people every 200 feet from the main line to you in order to get service.  In this day and age when all we keep hearing is that there is an abundance of natural gas and how it helps to get away from the dependence on foreign oil , that we have it in our backyard and the utility will not give it to us.  Natural Gas is cheaper, cleaner , and more energy efficient compared to oil.
