Dear NFL organization; Roger Goodell; April Donnelly; and all appropriate personnel:
With all of the petitions I see get tossed around for the Super Bowl half-time performer slot, I felt that it was the right time, more so the PERFECT time, to bring to the table a feature performance that is more than well deserved and LONG overdue.
For 50 years, the greatest of the great in the music industry have graced the Super Bowl stage, dazzling us with their artistry just as the league's best have dazzled us with their athleticism. What better group of musical engineers to set a precedent during such an occasion, than the remaining members of The Grateful Dead!
On so many levels, this would be a monumental and unforgettable Super Bowl half-time performance, not only for those in attendance, but for the entire world over. The television audience alone, and thus the Nielsen ratings, would be unparalleled. It is NO secret, the well established success and history behind this band. They are a pure slice of true Americana, and the kind of revitalizing live sound that the Super Bowl needs.
So with consideration to the all of the above, including the many supporters who have signed and who continue to sign each day, from the United States, from Japan, and beyond, I submit this petition and request to the NFL powers that be, as well as those behind the scenes in the Dead organization, to make this amazing feat a reality. To bring the remaining core four to the Super Bowl half-time stage...
Thank you dearly and sincerely for your time.
