Dear Petition Signatories, Concerned Basotho, and Global Supporters,

The groundswell of support for this petition has confirmed a stark truth: The crisis in Lesotho extends far beyond a single sector. What began as a desperate plea for jobs and justice from the textile industry has exploded into a unified front demanding an end to systemic government failure.

The Coalition is United and Ready to March

On October 31st, a powerful, multi-sectoral coalition will march together to deliver a consolidated petition to the Prime Minister. This movement represents the unified voice of the nation, bridging the gap between workers, traditional leaders, athletes, and the general public:

The Big Six Trade Unions: Fighting to secure jobs and justice for thousands of workers.

The Organization of Chiefs of Lesotho: Demanding respect for the rule of law and the payment of their legal entitlements.

The National Youth and Community Groups: Pushing for real job creation and an end to crippling unemployment.

The Lesotho Sports Fraternity: Demanding the opening of Setsoto Stadium and the restoration of national pride.

Our Escalated Demands: Targeting Systemic Failures

Our demands are now focused on ending both the immediate economic threat and the underlying culture of impunity:

Core Demand for October 31st

Labour & Economy
Secure AGOA Renewal and negotiate down US tariffs to save jobs. Mandate payment of all outstanding dues to workers from absconding factory owners.

National Infrastructure
Immediate allocation of funds to complete Setsoto Stadium refurbishment. End the financial drain of playing "home" matches abroad and restore national pride for athletes and fans.

Governance & Rule of Law
Immediately implement the legal salary increments for the Chiefs, demonstrating the government's commitment to honouring its obligations.

Anti-Corruption & Accountability
Take swift action on the PAC/LEC corruption findings. Prosecute those implicated in the alleged mismanagement of hundreds of millions of Maloti at the Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) and other parastatals, which has led to unfair tariff hikes for consumers.
The exposure of massive corruption at the LEC, alongside the dereliction of public infrastructure like Setsoto Stadium, clearly demonstrates that public funds are being wasted, mismanaged, or stolen while critical sectors of the economy are collapsing.

Our march on October 31st is a demand for a government that is competent, transparent, and accountable to its people. We will not accept excuses; we demand a substantive, public response and a concrete timeline for action.

We urge every signatory to share this petition right now. Let us send a final, overwhelming wave of support to show the government that the entire nation is watching.

See you on the streets on the 31st!
