UPSC have been recruiting NDA exam for male cadets for Army ,Navy and Air Force since 1954.

Motto of NDA is "service before self" .

ONLY MALES are allowed to appear for this exam AND NOT FEMALES.

We respect this NDA exam which helps the youth to take bold decision and make them enthusiastic.

My concern is why females are deprived of this exam, females who give birth to males, carry them in the womb for months and make them strong enough to enter this most popular defense exam. Is Right to Equality (Article 14 of Indian Constitution) not applicable to Indian defense service ??
