Reconsideration of FMGE passing mark June 2020, to supplement the need for doctors.

The Issue

This is a simple request to the relevant authorities and councils involved to reduce the required passing mark for this June 2020's FMGE exam or to provide special consideration for those within the passing mark range. The overall passing percentage was noted to be lower than the exams before; clearly coinciding with most candidates' testimonies reiterating the level of difficulty the exam was set at this particular session. Special consideration should be given to candidates who were within the brink of the passing marks required, for they have not only shown outstanding determination to prepare for the said exam during uncertain times in this pandemic (Covid19) but also because they showed immense courage in travelling to the necessary cities to appear for the exam itself. They knowingly, put themselves in harm's way in hopes of joining their fellow colleagues in the battle against Covid19 and other health issues at present - a time at which, doctors are greatly needed at all parts of the country. This ranges from availability of primary care up to tertiary and critical care services. This petition implores those of us who care about our population's health needs and improving its resources, to sign up and stand along the FMGE candidates. Thanking you with great appreciation and anticipation.
