I'm back with another update! We have 26,000 signatures and counting!! We are yet averaging about "a thousand" signatures per day, but I'm afraid things are about to change for the worse. People across the nation are now demanding "national action" and President Obama himself has declared "national action" is needed. He in fact has addressed the issue with several activists and organizers who fought the police injustices in Ferguson. The President requested to meet with them so the demand for "national action" has reached the highest levels in government. So where do we go from here? My sole objective in initiating the petition was so the "voice of the people" could be heard. Yet, those same people have not all done there part and the petition which was started "over a year ago" fell behind and went largely unacknowledged. But with the advent of Ferguson more and more people began to demand "national action" and those people were more organized, better financed and came to the attention of the world. In an attempt make our action known, I have ran from "pillar to post" talking about national action. I did cable, radio, marches and protests "posting" each and every one so that the supporters of this petition could "see" my efforts towards this demand. I wanted them to see that while they were "pushing and getting the signatures" I was out there in streets and every place I could be making the demand known. And then I began to "fund raise" hoping if we could get enough money we can spread the demand "outward" that way. Well money is hard to come by - almost as hard as these signatures were. But for whatever reason, our petition did not "take off" as we had hoped. Yet, the demand for "national action" is out there. It is being discussed, demands are being outlined and people are lining up to make their demands known. And those who "speak the loudest" will in fact be heard. We currently have a demand for "national action" in progress, along with a request for donations towards it. Both will be provided at your disposal just as it has always been.
