About 2 days ago, we reached 15,000 signatures! And those of you who have supported this action from the beginning know very well indeed "what a battle it was". You signed the petition "early on" while many disputed and discounted the benefit of signing a petition. Today, the entire nation is talking about "nation wide action" so consider yourself as "leaders" in the fight against police brutality and murder. For it was your actions that set the tone for the fight we are currently in pursuit of. Some may not have realized it but we are in pursuit of a FIGHT. We are fighting for our loved ones, fighting for ourselves and fighting for justice, which has been repeatedly denied. On October 9th I acknowledged the 10th year since my son Gregory Chavis lost his life at the hands of NYPD. And this year was particularly difficult in view of the fact that his life and the life of countless others have yet to receive justice in the face of "outright murder" which we see escalating daily. There is no longer any confidence in police investigating themselves, and when prosecutors refuse to "charge" them as they have done in both the MICHAEL BROWN and ERIC GARNER cases it sort of solidifies the unwillingness to hold police accountable. But I am determined to demand POLICE ACCOUNTABILITY and I believe that you are too! We've come too far to "turn back now". And although it has been a struggle in obtaining signatures or getting the needed finances we will work with "such as we have" in order to get the job done. www.gofundme.com/police-accountability
