After several years of Marching and Protesting, rallying and speaking on panels and in forums to promote the demand in progress, and virtually carrying it forward on my own (except for the help of a few) I allowed the petition to close because it simply did not move. To continue, I had to reopen it at the end of each year. But this year I saw no need. The help that was asked for was not given and the efforts to fundraise were not successful. This was despite the work already being done. It seemed people believed that I could wage nation-wide action totally on my own, when the reason I was able to do the things that had been done, was purely by the grace of God.
To see murder after murder in front of our face on video, with the victim unarmed posing no threat and to hear police repeatedly say "we find no wrong doing" with this murder, is insanity to me. We are living in a country where being "afraid" as a cop justifies murder, whether man woman or child. And the efforts made to "right the wrong" do not consist of punishment but "reforms" and better training. It has never been alright with me, to simply create a law hoping to prevent the next murder, while allowing the present murderers to escape. And although celebrated and applauded as a victory, the life taken is not benefited, NIETHER are those whose loved one was taken.
In the face of outright "executions" are discussions of "getting along better" with police. These are falsifiers of official records, tyrants in the streets, rapists and abusers of authority who operate according to code. Why should it be considered to get along better with them - when they bust into homes without warrant and murder and the "good cop" co-signs as he is told, so that there is no distinguishing one from the other? How do we maintain a position of respect when we witness their "lawlessness" daily? And when the government informs the people that the police force consist of KKK members and the execution of people is witnessed on video and none are held accountable, why do we yet wonder at why a person was murdered?
Aren't we in denial? Aren't we pretending because the truth is too painful to bare? I do not wish to "go round in circles" running from "pillar to post" begging for justice. Nor do I wish to facilitate the creation of laws for the sake of creating. Because no penalty or punishment exists whenever they break them! That little detail has escaped the attention of many. For they believe "if we create it we will stop them". I am persuaded that nothing shall stop them - until punished and held accountable! And because the very system itself "protects, defends and arms" them, while taking their account as factual concerning their murders, nothing short of a nation-wide demand shall over rule it. The demands stands! It stands based upon my conviction, that the murder of unarmed innocent people is an evil which must be punished. And I will not "close" the demand based on who "supports" and who does not because the stand being taken is just and correct. Nor will I be accountable for those who don't quite get it. Because the blood of the slain speak loud and clear. Either you hear or you don't.
