A quilt in SOLIDARITY with the demand for nation wide action, is being made by supporters of the demand - within the United Kingdom! The demand is using a petition to galvanize a nation wide movement, seeking "police accountability" across the board.The demand was started by Danette L Chavis the mother of Gregory L Chavis, who lost his life at the hands of NYPD in October of 2004. From that time into the present she has insisted that nation wide action is needed in order to address and remedy the murders of police. Her fight is not a fight on behalf of her loss and her loss only, but a fight against a system which proclaims "liberty and justice for all" while allowing the murders of innocent unarmed people to continue at the hands of the police. That fight her and her work concerning it, came to the attention of those outside the United States who publicized her efforts within media inside the United Kingdom. A show of "solidarity" was given and the creation of the quilt began, displaying the names of each person donating towards the demand for nation wide action! It is a way to acknowledge their support and their stand. However, effective July 22 of 2016 there will be "no more names" added upon the quilt. The sporadic donations have delayed it's completion for far too long. And no prompting nor encouraging for donations ought be needed, in demand such as this, when the murders of innocent people have escalated across the United States, without remedy and without justice!
