Greetings friends and family,
I hope you had a great weekend. Kayne and Kirsten left NKY on Saturday afternoon and drove to Memphis for the night. Yesterday, they finished their drive and arrived safely in Baton Rouge around 6:30pm.
Our gracious host family had dinner for Kayne as soon as he got there. Kirsten let them know she was fasting yesterday for the prayer and fasting vigil we had for Kayne. We had a lot of prayer warriors praying for Kayne yesterday. We always have people praying, but yesterday people signed up for time slots to make sure we had a 24-hour continuous cycle.
Our host family, Chip, Aimee, and Angel Simon had the beds ready for Kirsten, Kayne and Dementor (also named Moose). Kirsten said her emotions caught up with her when she saw the rooms prepared for them. Unbelievable family! Hard to believe Kirsten met them on a plane ride.
Keagan returned home from Kentucky last night. Max picked him up at the airport and they are both back home to liven things up.
Kayne and D or the Moose made it to LSU this morning. A few of the student guides were waiting on him. Kirsten got a picture of all of them before she left Kayne for the first time. Kayne will be staying in the dorm this week with the other students while attending LSU’s STRIPES (Student Tigers Rallying, Interacting, and Promoting Education and Service) program at LSU.
Kayne felt good this morning and we are glad. This is a major milestone for him and we are very proud of him.
Please pray for Kayne to continue to feel good this week. He has big plans for Saturday with Keagan and some other friends.
I want to thank my friend Dean Gregory, owner of Montgomery Inn for helping to spread the word about Kayne’s situation and non-profit cannonballsforkayne.org to help raise funds for medical expenses. Great food and a great family! If you haven’t been to the Montgomery Inn Boathouse in Cincinnati, you should make plans to go sometime.
We ask everyone to share the message and encourage your friends to donate towards Kayne’s medical expenses and research at www.cannonballsforkayne.org or Cannonballs For Kayne Foundation, P.O. Box 1738 Ormond Beach, Florida 32175
Have a great week and I will update you again this weekend. Love to you all. One doesn't get through this alone!
