Call for Guns Amnesty in Toronto and more investment in preventative measures.

The Danforth shooting is a tragedy impacting a kind, generous and beautiful family in our Kingston Road community. While many people will rally round and support the family - we all have a responsibility to bring an end to this needless violence that has become rampant across our city.

We all need to express our anger and outrage publicly and force the hands of the politicians and police to rein-in access to guns and other weapons, and invest in mental health programs for the disenfranchised.

We all need to take personal responsibility within our spheres of influence by asking ourselves: do we know anyone experiencing any form of extremeness (behaviour, thought or otherwise), could they be under influence from people on the fringes of society, have they discussed or showed off owning any weapons, and do we know who to go to if the answer is Yes?

So ... what will you do? And what can we do together as a community, as a city, and a province to turn the tide?

Start by signing this petition calling for a renewed guns amnesty for Toronto, and greater investment in preventative measures targeting the vulnerable members of our society.

We need your voice and your support so that the politicians and police know this can never happen again.
