Protect crying Zelda from Nintendo of America

The Issue

we all are excited about the new Zelda game: Breath of the Wild, that will be releasing in March alongside the Nintendo Switch. For many of us, it has been three long years since the amazing first trailer they showed us back at E3 2014. Others have recently downed a green Phrygian cap and boarded the 'hype train' for this epic game's release.

However, many fans, including myself, have noticed a distinct change between the Japanese and English versions of the game. During Nintendo's press event, on Thursday, January 12, 2017,  they revealed their release date trailer for "The Legend of ZeldaBreath of the Wild." One of the highlights of that trailer is the one scene where Link holds Zelda, as she realizes that all her work was for nothing and wails in Link's arms. I felt the powerful desire to hold her and comfort her as she lets out that stress. Since Link is the player's avatar, this connection successfully establishes a bond between the player and Zelda. This scene sets my emotional expectations for the game and promises an epic story to complement the gameplay we have seen so far.

Now, when I check back on that trailer, I don't have the same desire as before. At first, I thought it was because I had seen the trailer before and I had expected that scene. But when I checked the Livestream for the press event, I felt that desire again.

So what is the problem? the problem is that the Livestream featured the trailer for the Japanese version of the game, which included the Japanese voice actress's lines, and I, who is living in the United States, have access to the North American trailers, which feature a localization English voice actress.

This isn't an attack on the English voice actress. But in my opinion and the many comments I have seen on the English release date trailers, the performance of the Japanese voice actress outshines the English voice actress in the wailing scene.

here are links to both trailers with time stamps to the wailing scene.

and here is a link to a video that has her crying in 7 languages

What can be done about this? Some suggestions I have seen were to have the option to switch to the Japanese voice lines or have the English voice actress re-record her lines for the game entirely. Now the ladder may have the risk of delaying game, again. and the former may be a quick fix. But one solution, which I believe would be the best route for Nintendo to take, is to leave the emotionally intense scenes to the Japanese actress while the English voice actress handles the dialogue for Zelda. This solution allows both actresses to partake in the North American release of the game and since the Japanese lines have already been recorded. The localization team at Nintendo can simple switch lines in a day-one patch. (assuming they have access to the Japanese lines) without another delay.
