Please help us ADVOCATE for the Wedding | Event Industry by sending a simple email TODAY!!!!
We are reaching out to our amazing Event Community as we find it necessary to organize and let our voices be heard. Your support on the Petition to Amend the Roadmap for Private Events 9 months ago gave us confidence to push forward as we were able to see 2000+ standing WITH us in these very challenging times.
We ask you now to join us in emailing Metro Nashville’s HEALTH DEPARTMENT (Health Department) and the Mayor’s Office to plead our case and ask them to honor the terms negotiated in September 2020: 30% Venue Capacity (up to 500) without Event Approval.
Though Nashville’s Covid cases have plunged 80% over the last several weeks, the Health Department continues to severely penalize the local event industry through EVENT APPROVALS and Capacity Restrictions (NOT tied to a facility’s size.)
*A comprehensive Event Application is required for each and every event whether hosted in a Licensed and Insured EVENT VENUE or a private residence. This policy is unfairly penalizing Industry Professionals who have invested thousands of dollars upgrading their facilities/businesses to meet new safety guidelines and make the majority of their revenue from Event Income.
While restaurants, retailers and schools are largely open, the Health Department's current Event Calculator (used to determine guest counts) has many venues functioning at 5-10% of their capacity. Well below the 30% capacity up to 500 they promised our industry in September 2020.
These restrictions continue to push Nashville events to surrounding counties which are and have been 100% open. This issue not only affects venues but continues to destroy our entire event community including Caterers, Rental Companies, Florists, Bands/DJs, Planners/Coordinators, and the Small Businesses that service our industry.
**WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO**
JOIN US this weekend in emailing the Health Department and Government Officials below. TODAY greet the return of Metro Health back to their offices with an overwhelming number of emails asking that they grant the following to our devastated industry.
Please feel free to cut and copy the following text in to the body of your email, adding any personal experiences you feel may help them to see the way our industry continues to be unfairly penalized…

To Metro Nashville Health Department and Mayor’s Office,
Re: Event Approvals and Capacity Restrictions
Current Davidson Co. restrictions are sending shockwaves, creating consumer fear/doubt and are affecting the stability of our industry now and will continue to for the next 2 years.
Please address our request to:
-Remove the Event Approval Application for LEGITIMATE (Licensed & Insured) EVENT VENUES, whose business is sustained through Event Rental Income.
-Let Venues operate at the promised 30% capacity starting March 1st, 2021 with monthly reviews to increase caps to 50%+ as soon as possible.
We ask you to provide an immediate life line to our devastated industry and honor the request above so that we may protect the future of our small businesses and Nashville’s Economically Integral Event Industry.
Sincerely,
