The Nashville, Georgia City Council holds their regular meetings at:

We, the concerned citizens, animal lovers, rescuers, pet owners, and supporters of Nashville GA Animal Control, are asking our county leadership to hear our voices regarding the recent departure of Animal Control Officer Kayla Lackey and the future of animal welfare in our community.
Our animals cannot speak for themselves. Kayla has been the voice of the fur baby community!
BRING KAYLA BACK!
Many members of our community are concerned about this change and what it could mean for the animals who depend on Animal Control, including abandoned pets, strays, injured animals, neglected animals, and animals living in unsafe conditions.
This petition is not about rumors or personal attacks. It is about accountability, transparency, continuity of animal services, and protecting the animals of Nashville.
We respectfully ask Nashville leadership to:
• Provide the public with as much transparency as legally and appropriately possible regarding the change in Animal Control staffing.
• Explain the county’s immediate plan for responding to animal-control calls and protecting animals while staffing changes are underway.
• Ensure that animal welfare and public safety remain priorities and that adequate Animal Control coverage is maintained.
• Listen to community members who have worked with and supported Kayla Lackey and allow their experiences to be heard.
• Consider community concerns regarding Kayla Lackey and any appropriate options available to county leadership concerning the Animal Control position.
We understand that personnel matters may involve information the county cannot legally or appropriately disclose. However, our community still deserves reassurance that our animals will remain protected and that concerns raised by residents will be taken seriously.
This is bigger than one meeting.
It is about what kind of community we want to be.
A community that protects the vulnerable.
A community that listens when its citizens speak.
A community where animal welfare matters.
