We want to decrease the amount of space debris around Earth. At the moment, there are more than 27,000 pieces of orbital debris that have been tracked by the Department of Defense’s Global Space Surveillance Network sensors. Many more are too tiny to be tracked down but are strong enough to cause problems.
By 2030, scientists think there will be so much debris around Earth’s orbit that you won’t be able to see Earth from a far distance. This could end our space exploration.
But if we act now, we could change our space exploration future.
