Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) (and also UGC) have a serious tendency of delaying the scholarships of thousands of students. Condition has worsened due to the implementation of Direct Beneficiary Transfer(DBT) scheme as the research institutes (including IITs, IISc) are now unable to provide the fellowships to the PhD students as the money is supposed to come from CSIR directly. The delay in the fellowships to come has created a very much unbearable condition for the young researchers. Many of whom has not yet received the fellowship at all from April after the implementation of DBT scheme from CSIR. The students even in the top institutes including IISc and IITs are facing economic hardships and if the situation continues many bright fellows may have to quit their PhDs in between. I request our PM Narendra Modiji who's always been an youth icon to help us during this ordeal and make CSIR, UGC and also other GOI fellowships like Inspire etc. to timely disburse the fellowship to the students. This would help all the students to spend more time and energy towards pursuing a career in research.
