Dear PM & the CM,

This petition is for building the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Memorial in the Arabian Sea.

Though there would not have been any need for me to file this petition, but to my rude shock today morning found that certain sections of media and few so called "intellectuals" have been running a smear campaign to create an environment amongst the people to oppose the building of this Memorial by whipping up emotional comparison with subjects of health, school, water, food, open space, etc. Also Income generated here from tourism for locals is discounted and is labelled as waste.

Shivaji Maharaj has been an epic in the Indian history, who can be compared to none and taking this argument to such frivolous level is indeed very disappointing and sad. Likes of Babur, Ghengis khan, Taimur Lang and Aurangzeb being glorified by few rich and elite in todays time, it is now a MUST to have this large replica of Shivraya.

In a democracy everyone has the right to put forth there viewpoint and so do i.

The popular sentiment of 125 crore true Indians is with the Maharaj. Please do not even think of stopping the memorial.
