My friends, I ask you :

WHO IS MORE ENTITLED TO RESERVATION, A TYPICAL SALARIED MAN HAVING TO SUPPORT 3-4 KIDS, PARENTS ETC, OR A WELL-EARNING SC/ST WHO BECOMES BACKWARD ONLY DURING THE ADMISSION OF HIS CHILDREN?

IS IT HOW WE ARE EMPOWERING THE DOWNTRODDEN? BY ANSWERING OPPRESSION WITH OPPRESSION.

WHO D YOU THINK IS MORE ELIGIBLE FOR A SEAT IN IIT/NIT :  A KID WITH 7-8K RANK OR A KID, STUDYING WITH HIM AND GETTING 10-11K RANK. ALL BECAUSE HIS 'ANCESTORS WERE OPPRESSED' ?  

Reservation on any issue, which is not based on merit is detrimental to the society. Reservation of seats for ladies in trains and buses (or) reservation in the form of separate queue system for ladies (or) reservation in the name of caste, community, creed shall sooner or later make the society weaker from inside.

Let us talk about reservation in the name of caste at schools, colleges, jobs, promotion at job front or other such.

A and B are two students of the same class belonging to forward and backward classes (reservation class) respectively.

They both do not get the same marks. Analyse the following scenarios.

Scene 1:

A (FC) gets lower marks than B (BC) and A does not get a seat at the local college, B does:

Nobody has anything to complain about.

Scene 2:

A (FC) gets higher markes than B (BC) and yet, A does not get a seat in the local college, but B does.

Can you imagine the state of mind of A ? What confidence does A have in the system now ?

Scene 3:

A (FC) gets higher marks than B (BC) and both get into the same medical college and in the final exams, their marks are declared.

A has got higher marks because he had burnt the midnight oil, completed the entire syllabus, did several revisions, and was much better prepared for the exams. He scored 99%, which directly indicates that he has studied and understood 99% of his syllabus.

B scores 40% which indicates that he has studied and understood 40% of the same syllabus.

Both having completed their medicine, start their own practice, right next to each other.

You, as a patient, with full knowledge of their background and marks they have scored in their exams, whom would you choose to treat you and why?

Can any government impose a condition that those belonging to FC should go to a FC Doctor and those belonging to BC should go to a BC Doctor only.

How many of these politiicans who have supported the cause of uplifting the downtrodden, would like to visit a BC Doctor for their ailments ? It is another story that they run abroad for minor ailments like cough and cold as well, because they are aware of the truth.

Now extrapolate the above explanation to other fields as well - Engineer building a bridge or a 100 floor building or laying a road that is expected to survive several seasons or promotion at the job, without experience, etc. You will arrive at the logical conclusion.
