In the near future Napa City Council will be deciding on whether to install parking meters throughout downtown Napa. Business owners and residents are concerned that this will have several long lasting negative impacts. 

Impact Concerns: 

1. Cost the city and tax payers money to install, up-keep and monitor new meters. Studies of metered parking in other areas have shown a negative vs. positive financial impact 
2. Inconvenience and discourage locals and visitors from coming downtown and supporting local businesses
3. Deter longer stays downtown, impeding discovery and patronage of local business
4. Detract from the small town charm of Napa
5. Decrease options for employee parking, which is already at a premium

With this petition, we say to Napa City Council:

Do NOT add parking meters to our beloved downtown Napa.
Do research to understand the big picture and negative impacts of adding parking meters. 
Directly ask residents and other stakeholders if metered parking would negatively impact their decision to shop and eat downtown.
Provide additional necessary parking for the growing downtown work force.
