For years, health funds have provided rebates for services provided by psychologists with Medicare Provider Numbers, but not for the equivalent qualified Mental Health Social Workers who have qualified for Medicare Provider Numbers. As such, this means you the health fund subscriber are missing out on claiming for services when you do not qualify for the Medicare Rebate. Demand action now! Your hard earned dollars and clientele of these funds should be valued by listing these services in order to provide your choice of the professional that is right for you. 

One such fund - BUPA has advised that if there is sufficient demand in writing that they will add these services. In this day of increased mental health need, we should be promoting as much wellbeing in this area as possible.
