National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Covid-19
National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Covid-19
The Issue
We call on the US Congress to set aside March 7th as a National Day of Remembrance for those we have lost to Covid-19. March 7th marks the first time global cases surpassed 100,000.
We lost a tremendous number of American lives this year, both directly and indirectly, to COVID-19. These people were more than a number – they were children, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, and dear friends. They were the fabric of our community, and in many cases, they died alone and we mourned alone. We need an opportunity each year to come together as a nation to remember, mourn, and celebrate the lives of the loved ones we have lost to this tragic pandemic.
