Government funding for zoos to save the lives of countless animals!

The Issue

Hi there, my name is Sasha I am a Berkeley middle school student. I started this petition because right now animals could be dying, zoos do not have the money to feed the animals, and in Germany they plan to slaughter the animals to then feed them to each other. And I want to save them, but one kid isn't enough, we need you, will you help us save countless lives?

A zoo in northern Germany, the shuttered Neumünster Zoo, was hit so hard from the corona outbreak that they do not have enough money to support and feed their 700 animals. So, faced with this problem, the Neumünster Zoo plans to slaughter  the animals then feed them to each other. The first to go would be the deer and goats. Plethora animals would be slaughtered. (Here is my website, saving the animals at  Neumünster Zoo, also, my Instagram page). At the Birmingham Zoo in Alabama, President Chris Pfefferkorn said it costs an average of $30,000 a day just to operate a zoo — to feed the animals, pay the staff and utility bills and provide medical care.  Those costs are normally covered in large part by ticket and refreshment sales and gift shop purchases.   Now, no-one is buying those things.  In Germany, one zoo director said that as a last resort, the zoo may have to consider killing some of the animals to feed to others.  Zoo officials at the San Diego zoo launched a fundraising effort to help to fill the funding gap and after several weeks they furloughed some of their workers.  Without attendance revenue and the kinds of additional support that many nonprofit organizations rely on, Oakland Zoo will be in dire financial straits for many months to come.  More than 90% of the Zoo’s income is generated through admissions and concessions, membership and donations from their community. How can we solve this problem and save countless lives? You could just hit that sign button, and save innocent animals lives. All we need is you.
