We, as tax paying citizens of North Port and surrounding cities of Sarasota County demand that there be more police/troopers patrolling I-75 from mile marker 179 through mile marker 213. There are existing laws in place and we demand they be enforced to help reduce the loss of more lives along this route and help prevent further accidents. The every-day reckless, careless drivers are endangering the lives of everyone travelling on the same road as them.  While the current construction zones add to this problem, it was in fact a problem way before construction started and is getting worse by the day. We want to see our tax money being put to protecting us, our families and our property by the very people who hold the position to do so. The recent increase of accidents with fatalities on a daily basis is a huge concern to us and we are submitting this petition with the expectation that our current laws will be enforced to help protect everyone who travels this deadly interstate.
