Staten Island is getting a new ferry and we would like to petition for it to bear the name of Russel Timoshenko, a New York City Police Officer, who made the ultimate sacrifice to serve this country and this great city. Russel Timoshenko was a 23-year-old #NYPD officer who was shot on July 9, 2007, and died five days later, after pulling over a stolen vehicle in New York City's Crown Heights, Brooklyn neighborhood. Coming from the family of Belorussian immigrants Russel became true representative of American citizen giving his life for our believes and values. Naming Staten Island ferry boat in his honor will show our gratitude to the family and Staten Island community which raised this hero.
