Name San Antonio School After Our Beloved Counselor

The Issue

Mrs. Van was a dedicated school counselor, whose life tragically ended after she fell and broke her femur during a school fire drill. For over 55 years, she served the community with a heart full of love and commitment, making it her mission to be a guiding light for countless children and their families at our local elementary school in San Antonio, TX. Her passion for nurturing young minds and instilling a sense of confidence and self-worth in every child she encountered was unmatched.

Naming an elementary school in San Antonio after her would not only honor her memory but continuously inspire future generations to embody her compassion and dedication. It would serve as a permanent tribute to someone who immensely believed in the potential of every student and always went above and beyond to ensure they had the support they needed.

A school named in her honor would remind students, educators, and the entire community of her invaluable contributions and enduring legacy. Such recognition would provide an everlasting educational legacy, aligning with the values she held dear. Her selfless service and love for teaching echo through the halls of her school, despite her physical absence.

Our goal is to approach the North Side  Independent School District and petition for this renaming as a gesture of gratitude and remembrance for her incredible service. We are calling on friends, former students, colleagues, and community members to come together in support of this tribute. Join us in this endeavor to ensure that her dedication and accomplishments continue to inspire and touch lives for many years to come.

Sign this petition to make a difference and honor a remarkable life dedicated to education and student advocacy. Thank you for your support in helping to preserve her legacy.
