Name Mead Blvd traffic circle after Abraham Obey in Espanola, Ontario
The Issue
Espanola, Ontario holds a special place in our family's heart, just as it does in the hearts of all who call this vibrant community home. My great-great-grandfather, Abraham Obey, was the first to settle in this area, laying the foundations for what would become the town we cherish today.
Abraham Obey immigrated and arrived in Espanola, carrying with him dreams of building a life and community in the heart of Ontario. His tireless efforts and dedication to the land and people of this area played a crucial role in setting the stage for the modern, thriving community of Espanola. This history is not simply my family’s story; it is a shared chapter in Espanola's narrative.
Recognizing Abraham Obey by naming the Mead Blvd traffic circle in his honor would be a fitting tribute to his legacy as the first settler of this area. It would serve as a daily reminder of the history and effort that has built this town, inspiring both residents and visitors to appreciate the roots that our community stems from.
Every town holds hidden stories of individuals who have shaped its path. In naming this traffic circle Abraham Obey Park, we acknowledge the hard work and dedication of a man whose influence is woven into the very fabric of Espanola. This decision would not only honor his contributions but also educate present and future generations about the rich heritage of our town.
Join me in appealing to the town council to recognize and celebrate the contributions of Espanola's first settler by naming the traffic circle Abraham Obey Park. Your support is invaluable, and together, we can ensure that Abraham Obey's legacy endures. Sign this petition and help us pay tribute to a remarkable man who set the foundations of our community. Please message Debbie Morin Sheremetta reguarding how your related to Abe. I need to have this information to submit. If you are a relative or supporter.
