Thanks to your support, this petition has now passed 2,900 signatures. Every single one of you is helping restore the legacy of a Connecticut hero whose story deserves far more national recognition.

According to the Dan Haar from the CT Post and CT Insider (https://www.ctpost.com/news/article/sen-joe-lieberman-submarine-name-22299968.php), the honorable Senator Richard Blumenthal is working hard behind the scenes to ensure a fellow politician, Joe Lieberman gets a submarine before Henry Breault.

If you live in Connecticut, I’m asking for your help in the next step.

Please write to Senator Blumenthal, Senator Murphy, and your U.S. Representative. Tell them why Henry Breault’s story matters — to our state, to the Submarine Force, and to the nation.

Your voice carries weight. When elected officials hear directly from constituents, it changes what they prioritize. Connecticut has already taken the lead. Now it’s time for our federal delegation to match that commitment.

With Connecticut now officially recognizing March 8 as Henry Breault Day, we’ve proven what collective action can accomplish. But Breault’s legacy — as the only enlisted submariner to receive the Medal of Honor — deserves to be honored at the national level as well.

Breault earned $100 a month and received just $2 in additional pay for the Medal of Honor he earned by turning back into a sinking submarine to save a trapped shipmate. His courage shaped the identity of the Silent Service and remains a moral benchmark for generations of submariners. Lieberman, as deserving as he may be, should not be honored before the only enlisted submariner to receive the Medal of Honor.

Thank you for standing with us, for sharing Henry Breault’s story, and for helping ensure that his example continues to inspire.
