There is currently a park with no name near Bondi Beach and the local Waverley Council want to name it without any consultation with the local Indigenous community or any local Waverley residents.

We refuse to allow local councillors to make this decision on behalf of the 75,000 residents who live in this area.

We also think this is a great opportunity to name this park after a local Waverley legend, Adam Goodes. And as the park has scenic views looking out over Bondi, we're going with the name 'Adam Goodes Lookout'.

Adam, of course, needs no introduction. 2014 Australian of the Year, one of the Sydney Swans leading scorers, 2 time Brownlow Medal winner, and a proud Adnyamathanha man.

In January 2014 Goodes was named Australian of the Year for both his efforts to end racism and his work with indigenous-youth community programs, notably the Goodes O’Loughlin (GO) Foundation, which he founded in 2009 with his cousin and former Sydney teammate Michael O’Loughlin.

There is no-one more deserving in Waverley to have a local park named after them. If you agree, please sign this petition.
