With due respect, We would like to extend our gratitude to NALCO for building a state-of-the-art Secondary Eye Care Hospital in association with the LV Prasad Eye Institute. It is constructed on four acres of land at the Nalco Industrial area (in Angul) by spending 25 Crores rupees from NALCO’s CSR fund. It was suppose to provide eye care to more than 60,000 outpatients, perform 6,000 surgeries annually and offer free of cost treatment to poor patients. The building and infrastructure have already been constructed and Hospital inaugurated on 18th Feb 2019.  

Sadly, after 3.5 years of the inauguration the Hospital is NOT operational and unable to provide much needed healthcare benefits to those in need. Local people are being deprived of a basic health service even though they face numerous health issues because of massive industrial pollution and road accidents. It is a financial loss to the public because the CSR fund is allocated for local people’s welfare and development.

For the past few years, we have been in the dark struggling to find the reasons of not operating the hospital. Irrespective of the reasons and the wrangling (if any), the general public continues to suffer. Nalco is a profit-making, prestigious, schedule “A” Navratna company; no obstacle can stand its way especially on this noble effort. With interest and willingness, NALCO has immense power to make this hospital open.   

Respected Authorities, in the service of humanity, please open this Hospital as soon as possible through any means necessary. Your attention will be appreciated and help build public trust with NALCO. Please let us know if there is any way we, the public can help the authorities to open this hospital.
