 These bills will

 - Allow the use of mechanical dredging in New York State waterways.

 -Take the authority away from Department of Environmental Conservation and give it to the Department of Agriculture and Markets. 

Why is this Bad

-The D.E.C. who manages our marine resources, does not allow Mechanical Dredging in New York State waterways has done an excellent job protecting our waterways. The D.E.C. is why shellfish, fish and other marine life still prosper.

- The motors on these dredge boats will need to be running the entire time of the harvesting process increasing air and water pollution.

- Mechanical dredging is a hazard to fish eggs, flounder, fluke and most bottom dwelling marine life. 

Why change a system we know works and has shown to be beneficial to marine life, and the environment.
