Stop Undertrial Salman being Brand Ambassador for Olympics, instead appoint Sports Person
The Issue
It may be forgetting, forgetting, justifying and glorification of Salman for killing of innocent humans and poaching/killing endangered species for which cases are pending against him.Being ambassador means representing country physically and ideologically, India will be wrongly represented if he is her BA. Salman Khan a non-sports person/actor is appointed as Brand Ambassador of India for Olympics 2016 by Indian Olympic Association.

THE PETITION
The appointment, rather the conferring of Sh. Salman Khan as the brand ambassador of Indian Contingent to Rio Olympics 2016 can at best be termed as non-application of mind by the appointing authorities. Does it require mentioning that Khan's off-screen life is marred by controversy and legal troubles?
His hunting of endangered species, and a negligent driving case in which he ran over five people with his car, killing one, have been extensively covered by the Indian media. Is not the appointment illegal and devoid of any merit from the very root of it?
The appointment has also turned out to be a controversy and has raised eyebrows which fact can be affirmed through the publications and opinions of the general public and eminent persons.
A major by-pass of a basic and standard qualification has been adopted to accommodate Mr. Salman - traversing from a very basic rule, more particularly a “fill in the blank” available in every form, application, document, appointment etc. “A blank seeking information about the pending cases of a citizen”. Is the Star so qualified that such a blank is pushed behind bars? My opinion is strictly against the appointment and it is purely my personal view.
Olympics the revered event of ancient Greek is till day considered the most reputed. Here citizens present their country, not only the sportspersons but all the participants represent the country, they include coaches, marching contingent, managers, doctors, allied staff and even the spectators, their behavior counts.
The achievements of Brand Ambassador Matters, those who have no achievement in sports have no business to be there. The country should be gracefully represented by sports Icon.
No doubt Bharat has many Noble Laureates, unparalleled Artists, spellbinding orators and most reverted Dharma Gurus with tremendous following, mesmerizing magicians, social Crusaders, doctors, number of Guinness record holders, towering politicians and business magnates etc. despite their success, popularity, dedication and accomplishments, their everlasting contribution to humanity and country and everlasting impact but it does not qualify to be sports icon.
Indian Olympic Association has appointed Mr. Salman Khan a Bollywood Actor as Brand Ambassador for India in Olympics who has got nothing to do with sports.
On the contrary Sh. Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan is:
· Under trial in sadistic killings of Black bug, with no remorse
· Crushing, innocent under influence of liquor
· His alleged links with the Underworld
· He has been denied Visa to UK for the above and/or other reasons
Mr. Khans’resume is a deadly combination of controversies and Sadistic/Masochist disorders i.e. trigeminal neuralgia. His traits, mannerism, behavior, past history of the brawls can lead to unprecedented embarrassment if Mr. Khan commits/attempts to kill or attack someone or vandalize during the event? It will be lasting all-time loss of face.
If host country or organizers deny or raise eyebrows on his appointment/visa.
The key witness police bodygaurd Ravinder Patil stated that salman refused to listen and was driving recklessly, Patil whose picture is on the top was latter found missing and then arrested and finally died as unknown and unsung death; bad luck for truth against mighty.
However, it is a big question is as the IOA claims that Mr. Khan is promoting IOA! Is credible? or the reality is that it is the IOA helping him to boost his coming film Sultan, by projecting him as a person of sports arena in which Mr. Khan is playing a Wrestler.
The IOA has exceedingly stated that Mr. Khan is most famous! Rating and performance is not the whim and fancy of IOA; it is not their prerogative. Besides, Sunny Leone is the most Googled Indian and ahead of Salman Khan, why not Sunny, they should at least stick to their criteria, their fancies.
Let esteemed IOA not lower its prestige, morale of players and Reputation of our country.
