More food choices at our local Kroger

The Issue

The residents of the Portland neighborhood of Louisville, KY need more food choices at the local Kroger. A good number of Portlanders drive elsewhere to do their grocery shopping, while many are unable to do so. Everyone would love to support the local Kroger, but changes must be made.

Local shoppers need a more varied selection of meats and fresh seafood. The produce selection also needs to be larger, with local being a main focus. There also needs to be a bigger selection of plant-based vegan foods, gluten free foods, and ethnic foods.

Portland is on the verge of becoming a food desert. Many of its residents are dependent on a local market to feed their families.  They do not have the means to shop elsewhere.  The management of Kroger needs to listen to the concerns and needs of its customers, and act accordingly to provide what the customers need. Access to fresh, healthy food is essential to the well-being of a community.

The partnership between Kroger and its local customers can be a lifelong, mutually beneficial association.   Consumers will have access to the fresh, healthy foods they absolutely need, and Kroger will flourish with new, loyal customers.

Let's make this happen for the community!
