Today, I journeyed to Canberra where I gathered at a memorial in Weston Park, to honour the memory of family members or friends, including my Daniel, who died as collateral damage in this so-called war on drugs.

I am in the ACT as a special guest of Families and Friends for Drug Law Reform, who are committed to preventing tragedy that arises from illicit drug policy.

My friend Bill Bush, is the group's president. I was honoured to be invited there to speak at their memorial, to stand alongside Families and Friends for Drug Law Reform. Here in the ACT, thanks to pill testing and other health strategies endorsed by the territory government, no deaths have occurred.

By contrast, just across the border in New South Wales, we've seen a strategic leak of the draft coroner's report into the six festival death - an attempt, apparently, to derail the important findings.

Can you contribute to my fighting fund to make pill testing a reality?

It's impossible to be in Canberra and not feel the power of politics, and be reminded that elected representatives have the lives of young people in their hands. And yet, they cast them aside as they throw their hands in the air over pill testing, ignoring experts, grieving families, and even the coroner herself.

That's why I'm taking things into my own hands. Soon, the coroner's report will be officially handed down. We'll need to be ready - we already know the police, tabloids, and NSW premier remain opposed to pill testing and other safety measures.
