Urge Officials To Prosecute My Neighbor That Has Unethically Bred Animals For 20+ Years
The Issue
My neighbor has abused vulnerable animals for over 20 years for her own monetary gain. This all started in the early 2000’s when my parents bought their first home. They reclaim hearings of screeching, yapping, and crying coming from our neighbors yard. It was strange to hear, as it occurred more often than you might think.. but my parents ignored the hearings, as they were new to the area and didn’t know how to act. Fast forwarding about a decade.. my two sisters and I were born. We started hearing the sounds. They were extremely horrifying and unpleasant.. almost on a daily basis as well. My older sister decided that enough was enough. About 2-3 years ago, she dialed 911 and the humane society was notified to come check out the area. An officer reported that our neighbor's living conditions were filthy and unlivable. (The dogs were housed in a crowded shed full of dried urine and feces, and a small area heater so that the dogs wouldn’t freeze to death.) Officials gave her a week to get rid of the dogs and keep 3 of choice. Little did they know she wasn’t going to get rid of them. She transported them to a home down the street for a week so that when animal control would come and check on her, she would only have 3 dogs in possession. She then transported them back to her house and continued to abuse and neglect them. We believe she has been selling them for monetary gain because she has only possessed 2 large pit bulls (we assume are for breeding) and the rest puppies. 2 years later, we called animal control for a second time. They visited her at her doorstep because she refused to let them search the back. They chatted for a while and soon took off.
