In light of increased COVID-19 preventative measures, My Chemical Romance (and indeed Download Australia/Japan) have unfortunately had to cancel their events. MCR’s shows in New Zealand and Osaka have also been postponed until the risk of transmitting the disease abates considerably.

We, as devoted fans of My Chemical Romance, respect and understand the necessity of these cancellations. We know that it is for our own safety, as well as that of the band, their families, the crew, and indeed all our fellow human beings at this time.

However, this has been a topic of great frustration, sadness, and anxiety for all involved. We have missed the band terribly, and it feels all too cruel to be so close yet so far to something we have been wondering about and waiting for since 2013.

As such, we would like to propose the notion of a digital concert to take place via livestream.

We feel this would be a fantastic way for fans and the band to reconnect, finding mutuality, camaraderie, and strength in each other in these stressful times.

The virus may take away our right to convene in concert venues in the real world, but it can’t get us online!

The aftermath truly is secondary.
