Is it illegal for an employer to discriminate because I have or had cancer?
Yes. Under federal law and state laws, an employer cannot treat you differently from other workers in job-related activities because of your cancer history as long as you are qualified for the job. You are protected by these laws if:
You are qualified for the job and you can do the essential duties of the job in question.
Your employer treated you differently from other workers in job-related activities because of your cancer treatment or history.
See? Very simple. The Town of Monroe has violated my brothers rights on both accounts. Why do they continue to blatantly discriminate against him? How has it gone this far? Ten months for God's sake. Someone must be accountable. Let's go Monroe ~ you've let your shameful, disgraceful behavior continue against all reasoning. Fix this now.
