My 9-Year-Old Amaira, died in Jaipur's most Prestigious School -India Must Demand Justice
The Issue
How does a 9...year...old girl walk into the “safest” place for a child – “The school” and never returns home?
I am Amaira’s mother, and I ask this question every minute of the day.
Our only daughter — our “Beti Padhao” dream — died inside her school - NEERJA MODI - due to bullying, negligence, and violations of School Bylaws. India lost a bright child. Stand with us to demand justice for 9-year-old Amaira and safety reforms for every child in India.
My daughter was our only child, our pride, our “Beti Padhao” dream — exactly how our Prime Minister urges us to raise our daughters: with dignity, opportunity, and education.
Amaira was not an unhappy or struggling child. She was thriving.
She was brilliant, cheerful, and deeply loved and appreciated by her family, friends and teachers .
Just weeks before her death, the Principal of Neerja Modi School herself gave Amaira the “All...Rounder Award” — proof that she was excelling in studies, activities, behaviour, everything.
And yet, this shining 9...year...old was abandoned when she needed adults the most.
For 1.5 years, Amaira was bullied by classmates.
We repeatedly approached her teachers, coordinator, and principal.
We submitted messages, audio recordings, and evidence.
Every time, the school told us:
“we will take care of it.” While we tried for a change of school as well ... because of their assurances, we continued.
On the day she died…
On 1 November, Amaira went to her teacher "5 times" in "35 minutes", In person asking for help.
Five times.
A frightened 9...year...old seeking safety.
Instead of support, she was scolded, blamed, and dismissed, while the teacher was shopping online during class.
Minutes later, our only child climbed 4 floors and was gone.
Not just negligence — clear crime
This case is not just emotional.
It is filled with hard, legal violations:
- School ignored 1.5 years of bullying complaints
- Mandatory 15+15 days CCTV footage missing (CBSE violation)
- No Anti...Bullying Committee (NCPCR 2024 mandatory)
- No counsellor intervention despite severe distress
- Unsafe building & railing violating NBC + CBSE safety norms
- Child climbed 4 floors : No floor attendants and no one asked why and no CCTV monitoring
- Complete breach of child...protection guidelines
And the most shocking part:
They destroyed evidence.
They washed the area where she fell.
They kept her school bag — crucial evidence — locked inside the school for 10 days.
What were they hiding?
A Government that asks us to “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” must answer us today
We chose to have one child — a daughter — with pride.
We did everything to raise her strong, educated, confident.
And yet, inside the very place meant to protect her,
she was failed by adults, failed by the system, failed by the nation.
Nine years old.
An all...rounder.
A shining child.
Too young to go.
Our demands — for every child of India
- Immediate criminal action against the negligent teachers and management as its clear Abetment to suicide
- Suspension of CBSE affiliation until the school meets all child...safety norms
- Strict nationwide enforcement of anti - bullying protocols and counsellor systems in every school for a larger purpose.
This is no longer just about Amaira.
This is about every child who enters a school trusting its safe and there the adults will keep them safe....Pls sign and share
