Mustafa Aljazairi has suffered immensely and unjustly in the Prince William County Adult Detention Center and Circuit Court in Manassas, VA area justice system. He has been enduring solitary confinement for an alarming span of 18 months. His confinement is a result of imposition by the CO's, Commonwealth Amy Ashworth, Sheriff Glenn Hill, Attorneys and the presiding judge, who we believe are acting unfairly and against his constitutional rights. 

These individuals are complacent in this injustice, reportedly due to a past lawsuit Mr. Aljazairi lodged against the sheriff's department. Evidence pointing to this bias has been obscured and seemingly tampered with, while participants within the legal system have allegedly lied under oath. This breaches our trust in a just legal process and impacts the community's confidence in the fair imparting of justice.

The continuing mistreatment and inhumane confinement conditions of Mustafa Aljazairi are a dire violation of his rights. The United Nations Human Rights Committee has stated the duration of solitary confinement should be limited, as extended solitary confinement can lead to mental health complications and constitute cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment (Méndez, 2011).

Due to these critical reasons, we are requesting a change of venue for Mustafa Aljazairi's trial. Ensuring fairness and avoiding any influence of bias are integral parts of any justice system. Removing his case from Prince William County Manassas, VA will be a step towards impartiality and justice.
