What is the purpose of the Hilal Committee?

To have some power hungry old men divide the small Muslim population of Toronto, not unite them.

Despite credible Moon sightings all over the world, the Hilal committee in their infinite wisdom decided there were no sightings.

They held everyone hostage until midnight to deliver that news.

While the whole world celebrates Eid on Tuesday, few Muslims of Toronto will celebrate Eid on Wednesday. Why?

Even large, influential masjids such as Islamic foundation of Toronto and Islamic institute of Toronto announced that Eid is on Tuesday to unite the Muslims and go with the majority. But the Hilal Committee has no such sense.

Take a stand and sign this petition to stop these old men from running our Eid.  If we get a lot of signatures, our Masjids will be forced to stop following them.
