End Islamophobia

It is hard to turn on the TV nowadays or even scroll through a social media feed without seeing how the U.S. has become a divided nation. Islamophobia has been spreading throughout our nation. Georgetown University defines Islamophobia as prejudice towards or discrimination against Muslims. The election has made it okay to be hateful towards a certain race or religion. As an American-Muslim, I am asking the Muslim community to educate their non-Muslim neighbors about what Islam truly is. An interview held by YouGov asked 997 U.S. citizens if they had a somewhat or very unfavorable opinion of Islam. About 52% said they did have an unfavorable opinion of Islam. I am hoping that if Muslims educated their communities, these statistics can change.
