As a Jazz Musician, I feel it is important to keep a steady income, but unfortunately there is not enough stability for musicians and this needs to change.

If businesses can employ people to work why aren’t musicians given the same opportunities? We have Pubs, Clubs, Taverns, and all different venue types. 

There needs to be an improvement for people like me, who haven’t been able to hold a steady job and as difficult as these times are we need to allow individuals to work. 

I am hoping that this reaches the right people so that we can all have a life that isn’t just one kick in the teeth after another. I want musicians to have the same level of job security that most Australian workers have.

If a Musician or a Band is able to work at a Local Venue it will allow for other Bands and Solo Artists to gain a meaningful career as a Music Teacher, Session Musician, or become a Travelling Musician/Band. Which in turn means that there will be more access to employment opportunities.

Busking is also part of being Musician and it also needs to be included as work as there is a lot of time that goes into making a song list, composing, and making sure that all the pieces fit.
