END LOCK DOWN FOR SMALL BUSINESSES SPECIFIC FOR THE MUSIC INDUSTRY-HARRY GREEN MUSIC WORLD
The Issue
Due to the covid-19 global pandemic and the current prolonging of "national lockdown' in South Africa, the musical industry, since not deemed "essential", are struggling both operationally and financially; we are not generating any turnover, nor generating any stream of income- direct, or indirect.
Harry Green Music world, as most musical companies, is a specialized musical instrument shop.
There are approximately 50 dealers in South Africa that are selling musical instruments for example, but not limited to: Guitars, bass guitars, drums, keyboards and microphones.
We Believe , due to the nature of our business that he amount of customers visiting us in-store per day might not even be more than 15 people per day. Compare this to in-store visitors to hardware-, electronic-, computer shops etc. Since we have a much more "controlled" working environment, it is very easy to implement safety procedures and control amount of visitors, and due to the industry being very targeted , very easy to track customers and their whereabouts.
The advantage for the customer? While in the lockdown period they can learn how to play a musical instrument will help with emotional stress and keep them entertained in isolation. Our request is simple: That all musical instrument shops can trade under Level 4- With ofcourse strict safety and health measures in place, controlled admittance into store, and under the guidance and governance set out by government for business allowed to operate during these times.
