Upcoming discussions by the council

Good morning everyone! This update comes late as I was on vacation and out of the loop last week. First, I want to again thank you for supporting this petition to stop the payroll tax from being enacted. The good news is that last Tuesday, the city council voted to table this matter for the time being and resume discussions on the issue in the new year. To me, that means that your voices have had an impact and that you have been heard. We want to make sure that if and when these discussions resume, your input remains important to the council. To that end, I would encourage you to reach back out this week to the Mayor and/or whichever council members you contacted, and thank them for taking the time to discuss this in more detail and weigh all of their options. We want to remain positive in our communications and, to be honest, many times elected officials receive only the complaints for bad decisions and not the thanks for good decisions. It is my hope that they will discuss their options and decide against moving forward with a tax of this nature. However, if they do, we want to be prepared and ready to present our case.
