My twin sister Carol Selland Gacek was brutally stabbed to death by her husband on Fathers Day, June 19th, 2011. We have waited for 3 1/2 years to go to trial. Month after month court dates would be set only to be cancelled for all sorts of reasons. My family has been given a life sentence without the possibility of parole living with her loss. The last 3 1/2 years has been all about her killer's rights and his life, not about my sister's rights or the life he took from all of us. It was decided by two doctors at Western State Hospital that her killer was insane at the time of her murder therefor the ruling was "Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity" and he was acquitted of 2nd degree murder.   That ruling alone is so incredibly wrong. He was guilty of killing her. He should be  found guilty of  murder no matter what frame of mind he was said to be in. Hearing "Not" guilty is not acceptable for me and my family. My Sister's killer will be sent to WS mental hospital to be rehabilitated and then when he is deemed fit to return to society he will be let go. He needs to be locked away for the rest of his life, never to be allowed to be in society again. If a law is written - "Guilty by reason of insanity" and there is a life term added to it no other victims family will have to go through what we have just  gone through.  This is not justice.  Please help me and my family see this new law written. Its about the victim's justice, not about the murderers life and what society can do to make them better.
