Over the last 50+ years the communities of Wabush and Labrador City have used the Mike Adams Recreational Complex for numerous community functions, needs, sporting events, life lessons, swimming, bowling and Sea Cadets. It is the only recreation complex in our communities and has now been closed indefinitely.

I am asking the people of Labrador West to support this petition in requesting both elected councils of the communities and Governments to come to the table and discuss a solution, both short term and long term for a recreational complex in Labrador West, today, tomorrow and into the future. The current facility to be used in the short term until a new modern facility can be funded and built.

The loss of the recreational complex to these communities will affect all current residents and future residents, young and elderly individuals, sporting groups, retention of new employees to the mining industry and so many more groups that are to lengthy to list.
