The Government of Maharashtra State,  published its e-Governance Policy on 23rd September 2011. A major thrust of the initiatives under this policy was to ensure transparent working and ease of service for citizens. 

Till date the Sangli Miraj Kupwad Municipal Corporation has not even issued email accounts to its officers and staff. 

As a result of this,  citizens are unable to get answers to their questions,  send information digitally,  escalate complaints,  or create a record of their interactions with errant officers. The citizenry of Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad thus has to endure hardships and harrassment from officials and is unable to hold these public servants to scrutiny. 

We request the Municipal Commisioner to immefiately create email addresses for all officers and senior staff and publish the same on the SMKC website: www.smkc.gov.in
