Gurugram is a city with an abundance of cyclists, but its roads are built for cars.

In just the last month, 3 cyclists have lost their lives due to being involved in an accident on the road. Just last week, the cycling community lost one of it's torchbearers in an unfortunate accident. 

For every cyclist that rides for leisure of some form, there are hundreds of what we call 'everyday' cyclists - those who use a cycle as their primary mode of transport. These are most often individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

Most of the roads here don’t have footpaths, and those that do have been encroached upon or have several obstacles. Cycling on city roads is risky with cycle lanes either non-existent or unusable. This needs to change now, before we lose any more lives. Sign my petition to #SaveTheCyclists.  

We can no longer stand back and accept the fatalities and injuries that take place due to road accidents. The issues on our roads ARE avoidable. They are NOT inevitable.

It is time to demand better infrastructure for the cyclists in the city. Through this petition, I am asking for better cycling lanes and infrastructure for Gurugram. 

It is time to respect each and every road users, and ensure that those who cycle or walk can move around without fear. Your support will take us a step closer to #SaveThe Cyclists.
