Siri road is  a narrow pedestrian and vehicular ( part of the way) access up towards Kamala Nehru Park from Chowpatty Sea Face. The name Siri Road refers to Steps or "sidi" into which vehicular access  terminates at halfway up the hill.

The proposal to extend this road all the way up will require following:

1. Cutting of nearly a 100 Trees

2. Dismantling and removing Children's play areas of Kamala Nehru Park   completely

3. Removing structures on either side of the road some of them more than a 100 years old, including temples in order to widen it.

4. The proposal states that the extended Siri Road will be only "One Way Road" from Ridge Road to Tambe Chowk at Chowpatty; due to extreme gradient of the hill.

5. The congestion in the morning on Walkeshwar road starts at Tambe Chowk. This proposal will not solve it.

6.  In the evening this road will not help, as it is one way down only.

7. Further this means that present residents living off the Siri Road will be adding to the traffic going up Walkeshwar Road .

8. They willl have to travel up to Teen Butti Junction and further back up Ridge Road and down new Siri road to reach their homes. A 3km detour instead of 300 meters.
