Please sign my petition asking that Prolacta end their seven year lawsuit that has terrorized my mother Elena Medo and I. They claim we stole trade secrets, in the milk banking industry.
It’s dairy science, not rocket science.
Freezer temperature for human milk is NOT a secret.
Packing a box of supplies for milk donors, also NOT a secret.
Which medications should not be taken by breastfeeding mothers, also not a secret - in fact, by nature it’s critical that it’s known by the public.
Their “smoking gun” evidence against me personally?
The day I cleared my desk out after working there for several years, I brought a rolling case to remove my belongings.
Why a rolling case?
Because I was already months into my second pregnancy, and I was already worried about my baby due to the conditions I experienced while working there….
the conditions that became far worse when I announced my pregnancy after their CEO told me that having a baby would damage my career prospects there…
at. a. breastmilk. bank. dedicated to saving babies… founded by my mom.
I resigned.
I became an entrepreneur alongside my mother once again. And we developed products that are safer, easier to use, and more affordable.
Our new company was a Public Benefit Corporation- with a mission to increase access to human milk for sick babies whose lives depend on it. We moved the needle on accessibility significantly in an industry with ONE player, where only 20% of hospitalized babies have access to lifesaving human milk products - due to prohibitively high cost.
They sued my mother first, then added our company - then threatened to add me, which they did - each time dragging out the proceedings until we didn’t have a cent left to defend ourselves, and created enough perceived risk to investors that it was nearly impossible to raise money. They destroyed our company. And they continue to harass me and my mother personally - my mother, their founder and inventor on most if not all of their patents.
They won’t quit unless we demand it.
And I will never give up on the babies that need us, or our dedicated milk donors - many of whom still await payment for their milk.
I won’t walk away from our community.
