Magic the Gathering Players started this petition to MTG Commander Rules Committee and

On April 2nd Wizards of the Coast started to reveal the latest set Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths. For magic players around the world we have seen amazing monsters and unique abilities that will easily make magic even more amazing. One of the many mechanics companion allows for players to build their deck in a unique way to allow for an additional creature that they can be played from outside the game.

While magic players rejoiced in all the new cards, commander players were hit with a sudden ban. Lutri the Spellchaser, a cute otter elemental with a good ability was hit with the ban hammer immediately due to the sin of having companion on it. Its companion ability allows any deck in red and blue to have a free card. It is obvious that this ability should never see the light of day in commander but it doesn't mean the whole card should be banned.

With how crazy the world is now people want to have fun and play magic again after things finally get back to normal. Many will see the Ikora cards and want to play with them. A new or returning player might see Lutri and want to make a deck around them in commander or brawl. They will bring that deck to play with friends and depending on the play group might be told they can't play him. That feeling of spending hours to build a deck to never be allowed to play it hurts.

We the magic community ask for Lutri to be unbanned! Though to make sure he doesn't destroy commander or brawl either his companion ability has to be banned or for him to have a ruling saying his companion ability doesn't work in singleton formats like brawl or commander. This way people don't lose a legendary creature they can build around and games become more balanced not allowing players that happen to have red and blue in a deck to get a free card.
